Fast and agile, the kangaroo is one of Australia's most iconic animals. Easily recognizable by its long, powerful hind legs and its large tail which serves as a support, it moves by making great leaps that can reach more than 9 meters.

The kangaroo is a marsupial: the female carries her young, called a "joey", in a ventral pouch where it safely completes its growth.

A baby kangaroo is called a joey. This term comes from a word used colloquially in Australia, itself derived from an Aboriginal language, where it means "small animal".

An astonishing fact: this mammal can slow down or suspend the development of an embryo if conditions are unfavorable, a unique adaptation in the animal kingdom. A herbivore, it feeds mainly on grasses and young shoots that it grazes on the plains.

This Papo figurine realistically depicts a kangaroo: powerful muscles, an expressive head, and a dynamic pose. It's an ideal model to enrich a collection of wild animals, invent stories from Australia, or introduce children to the diversity of wildlife around the world.
